(Revised) Does keeping a pet reflect the kindness of pet owners?

The Humanity of Pet Owners

Nowadays, keeping a pet has become a social trend in every household. A recent survey in America shows that more than half of the pet owners want a family pet instead of another person with them if deserted on an island. However, does keeping a pet reflect the kindness of pet owners? Are pet owners taking the full responsibility while taking care of their pets? In my opinion, keeping a pet doesn’t reflect the kindness of pet owners. To illustrate, the unfolding news from BBC news has revealed the cruelty and neglect of pet owners and what has happened on the pets.

Generally, pets’ obesity needs all pet owners’ attention because obesity would eventually lead to health problems. An example from BBC news is terrifying that a podgy dog couldn’t move after a full English breakfast and needed to be carried to hospital thereafter. The owner was then “banned from keeping pets for life”, and accused of neglecting his pet’s health. Pets’ life are as fragile as human’s. They can be sick for reasons like humans. Therefore, pet owners should be aware of the danger of pet obesity. Seriously, pet obesity can cause arthritis, high blood pressure, poor liver function and diabetes, just as human obesity. For instance, some of my friends who are pet owners do not really concern about their pets’ weight. They feed whenever their pets ask for more beyond feeding hours. As a consequence, some of the pet dogs are overweight. According to Dr. Brinson, the most frequent cause of obesity in pets is owner indulgence. Owners do not realize that they are killing pets with kindness.
The BBC news headline “Pet owner jailed for pet cruelty” implies the inhuman act of the convicted pet owner. Mr. Jones was found guilty under the sentence of letting his pet dog starve to death for three weeks. The visage of the dead dog is horrible, and the veterinarian diagnosed that it was suffering through an agonizing period before it died. The wall has left some scratched marks, indicating the dog deprived of food and drinks was once struggling for escape. This is not news just on conscience, but also on morality. Mr. Jones was found guilty and he confessed that he was scared to be charged the moment he locked his dog accidentally. However, he was still considered irresponsible for not rescuing his dog. As is known to all, dog abuse is not a new issue. Today, we can even find that some websites established on the Internet for the purpose of animal protection. Hence, pet abuse mainly happened because of a pet owner’s cruelty instead of kindness.

Nonetheless, a global survey also defines that there are still a large number of pet owners willing to spend their time and effort on their pets. For example, pet owners tend to bring their pets for shampooing, brushing, and glooming. They patronize pet shops to buy some new products, such as more comfortable baskets, cages and leads, as well as toys for entertainment. Moreover, some pet owners put their pets at pet shops while going away for vacation or some errands. According to Euromonitor research, the increased expenditure spent on pets has simultaneously shown how much care the pet owners give out. In my opinion, despite the merchandises in pet market have increased and more pet owners are willing to spend money on their pets, not all owners keep pets out of kindness. Some people keep pets in order to prove their wealth; thus, spending money on their pets is necessary to show off their financial ability. Furthermore, keeping a pet is just a personal entertainment. As a consequence, no matter how much it costs a pet owner to keep a pet, it is not equal to a pet owner’s kindness.

A household pet is a loyal companion for pet owners; but when a pet owner neglects his pet for health and care, he or she is not loyal to his companion. Likewise, taking care of a pet needs time and effort, so make sure you are not the one who is lazy to feed and take care of your pet.

LiTTle CoOL 2

Remember once I told you about the story of little CoOl? Well, today it’s the time to show you my bike, which I newly bought from Taipei last month. Believe it or not, I have fallen in love with it when I first met it in the Yahoo auction. It was a time after I had failed in finding a bike in Taichung for about 10 times in three months. Actually I had a least wish to buy it at that time, didn’t think of I might have the chance to take a look at it by myself, because I was too busy to go for Taipei within a week while the auction will be lasted for only 10 days. Although my schedule was hectic during that week, I made a decision to go for Taipei one week later, just if there was no one bidding for it. Very soon, it had become a real wish which I hardly expected.

Until today, the story of little CoOl 2 and I have been started for a month. It is really cool of its new outer covering with metallic black, and I bet you could barely pay with such a price anyhow like I do. It is really cheap if I take this fair and reasonable price to compare with the price which those ten motorbike workshops offered me. What a scrupulous market price they had given me!
To my pleasant, I bought a new helmet for little CoOl 2. It was a long story if I wanna talk about the helmets which I bought previously while I was with little CoOl 1. All in all, it was a tragedy for they were confiscated by Malaysia Customs. In fact, I was totally out of the sense that they were against the law without paying some kind of tax. So next time don’t send something you don’t know whether it is legal or illegal without paying compulsory taxes to other countries, as silly as I did!

After some time, I bought another new helmet because I think it is necessary I need to drive someone important behind me. So now I have a cool bike and two cool helmets, I promise I will take good care of it. And I really do implement my promise because I always keep it clean while I have the time to do so.

A day of Self-h@tred

Today I lost something important, but I don’t think I can talk about it at here right now because my life will be totally ruined if I talked of something unhappy for I’m already in the situation. Everybody is busy for his/her assignment and the preparation of final exam recently, and so do I. I feel helpless whenever my schedule messed up. So I messed up everything in my life these days. I don’t know why, everything just run off schedule that I wasn’t able to fix things up on time. And I’m very hate of these things now-- writing journal, handing in homework, preparing something I should have done a week ago, going to work that would slow me down for other things… Why not just call them off for a second? Come on, I need a break. In this second, I’m crazy. I have nobody to talk with, and I have no one with me, because I refuse to speak up. Coz no one would understand me. So I better hide myself at a corner, keep myself quiet.
The conclusion is-- I lost my faith today. I feel angry to myself, I feel angry what had happened on me. I even dunno why I am typing this ridiculous thing on my journal, leaving myself a nonsense memory. Phew… sorry I shouldn’t have written this. But this is still my journal. So, leave it clear or I will score zero.
This is not the worst day in my life, but worse enough for me to have typed it down.

A wonderful night~

I feel like it has been a long time for me of not writing my journal on time. These weeks are really pulling me off from my schedule because there are a lot of assignments, presentation, reports, and family affairs surround me. That’s why I was not posting my blog by Friday every week. And I need to apologize if there is someone awaiting my weekly journal. Hopefully no one, I wish. So, at here, for last week journal, I wanna talk about a Malaysian family gathering party on Sunday.

Our group’s Malaysian family gathering is held normally twice a semester. Every sophomore should take turns to hold a party in that term. XIong is the one who is in charge this time. I offer to help him contact part of the members about the gathering date and time because his msn status implied that he has a lot of activities which he is one of the committees to be taken in charge too.

Since our group members seldom go out to have fun or meeting in the campus, I decide to have us playing badminton before going to the reunion dinner. Beyond my expectation, it worked out to everybody for understanding more about each other’s behavior in the game. The freshmen are quite funny for me. Indeed, all of us were playing worse in the game but we have fun for playing hard and serious.

I wanna thanks Cecilia for lending me her bike for the reunion dinner. ^^ Since there are 7 of us (formerly 8), I had to borrow a bike so that we can go there together. Actually I decided to have one of the freshmen with me, but there is an alteration in the attendance so I need not to fetch anybody. The destination is located at “The King of Yakiniku”, West area in Taichung, which is also 20minutes far away from our campus. Everybody had to coordinate with my riding speed because I drove around 50km/h. ><>

I didn’t like the food actually but I enjoyed chatting with everybody in my group. Through that, we are able to know each other better. Two of my seniors were staring at me while my jokes are getting colder (nonsense in English) but I spoke it out accidentally. At last, we decided to leave around ten. After realizing that I had forgotten to take pictures while we were eating, everybody became wordless to me—they have no idea that I brought a camera but didn’t take any pictures at all. Haha.. Therefore, we took a picture at our campus’ entrance by asking a help from a pedestrian. It was the happiest gathering dinner that we ever had.

Di@Ry oN M@y 16th,Frid@y

All I wanna typed now is negative news which happened last night.

There was a gathering dinner of our class last night. The venue is at Qing Jing Zhe, a Japanese Restaurant at Da Dun Road. Although I have heard that it is a standard restaurant, the tomato hotpot is not tasty enough for me to recall the flavor. So, it is soon enough for me to forget about it. /0\

One of my classmates drove me there; however, I wasn’t feeling well after I got home. Since he had caught a cold a day before, I might have probably infected by him. = =

After that, I had no idea what should I do because 8.30pm was the earliest time I came back from outside in a week. Therefore, I chat with a friend—Austin, in MSN because I was curious at something he typed on his status. While we were chatting, he was already at his home in Kao Shiung. He told me that he was actually back home for some errands, but he felt hard to breath and the condition led him to go for a doctor. The doctor told him that he needed immediate operation because he could encounter a seizure anytime. So, he is hospitalized today. > <

Worst of all, last night was a bad sleeping night because my roommate who couldn’t fall asleep was making noise again at midnight. @ @

Today I felt bad because I have some symptoms of sick and that I was not sleeping enough yesterday.

Mother's Day cake

nObOdy iS aLonE

Today I'm quite happy although i did bad in a quiz, because I designed my first Mother's Day cake for my Boss while I was working. The cake was a bonus for lab workers. According to our Lab working regulation and bonus, the workers with good working performance can receive special premium during special occassion. Sometimes even though it is just a dessert, i will be simply delighted. I think life needs miracle and surprise to be colorful and wonderful, that's why I'd be so happy. I remember our last-time-gift is a small box of Mooncake Festival bakery. For the reason i couldn't finish them myself, i gave some of them to my roommates and friends. In the process to share something with others, i learn and gain from the principle of happiness. Since i designed my Boss's cake by using his cake, i have my one to be brought home. However, I was not that relax because i started wondering when should i design my one and whom i would like to give. I got in a fret when i realized i had no time at all. These weekends are working days, i should better not take it home. However, while i think of that, i was already in a lift.

The person i met coincidently was a Myanmarnese, an acquaintance of mine. So i had a brainstorm to ask her whether she would like spending some time to design a Mother's day cake. She is very happy and curious about my suggestion, i should admit that she is one of the many girls who like knitting and DIY. As a consequence, Win Win Mall took the cake and seemed very happy in her face. In our conversation, i also found that we were both came back from work. I 've learned that she worked at a Thai Restaurant outside the campus. Compare to me, i worked at our campus Language Lab with special gifts back home during some festivals. I'm a lot more lucky than her ; therefore, i really shouldn't keep murmuring how hard my life were about working from day to day, from week to week, because there are some people who live pitier than i do.

Finally, i would like to say "happy mother's day to all the mothers throughout the world. Thanks to have born us to look at the world by our own. "

Bad sleep...Bad day ><

Oh no… I don’t know what I should do first now because there are lots of works waiting to be done. These weekends I have been working almost whole day. That’s why I have lack of time to do my homework now, including two summaries, one outline, one list, and one draft. I even haven’t started to study the Japanese vocabulary which will be tested on Tuesday. Oh my god…

The worst is…I slept bad last night because one of my crazy roommates kept getting up and off her bed. The noise she made annoyed me and I almost wanna scold her at that moment, but I didn’t. Because I am such a good person who dun wish to wake others up. @.@After a night of bad quality sleep, I am not in a good mood to start working from 7 o’clock this morning. What say now typing my journal in such mood? Surely I dun no what I am typing now and what should I type.

My bro told me dad was calling me few minutes ago but I didn’t pick up the phone. But I find nobody has rung my phone today. Probably he missed me and wanna find somebody to talk with. But my microphone has broken recently, which means I couldn’t call home until I get a new one. This is just like a double misfortune that happened on me. NOT receiving long distance call from family and NOT sleeping well to be ready for work and homework.

Really wish her could understand others a little bit that she is not the only one who is sleeping. It was not the second time of her doing so. Two months left to keep away from her, but it is long enough for me to suffer with. I wouldn’t keep my mouth shut if she did it again tonight. Be careful gal!

aLLeine-- alone. mY jOurnal wheN i'm AlOne

When I reached my dorm with an exhausted body, I was surprised to find that nobody’s home. So I called Kelly, one of my roommates, to ensure the others won’t be back too. After our recognition, the conclusion is that I will be alone during this weekend. Oh… What a nice day!~ ^^I am delighted because I always wish to have some space to be alone in the dorm, even though I’m quite scared to be alone sometimes. You might be confused by my statement or you might find it contradictory, but it is truly how I feel. My roommates were not going home simultaneously, and that’s why it failed me for so long. (Psst…Please don’t tell them~><) I have been waiting for this happening since my last staying-at-dorm-alone, two months I guess, because sometimes I am too tired to talk, too fed up to have companies, especially when I felt numb to talk about my coming home late was because I worked overtime that day.

In others’ eyes, I predict that some biased people would give me some freaking judgment, such as, a workaholic, a studious idiot, or maybe the most freak of nature, just because I seldom go out playing. I will not get angry, not even have the feeling to be harmed by some sort of discrimination, because they don’t know me, who I am and why I am doing something they’re not so agree with. When you think me wrong, I will correct you, modifying your recognition towards me, just when you’re my friends. Maybe you think that I’m introverted, but I’m not.

Everybody’s life is different owing to his/her condition. You might be a rich one, you might be a poor one. You know well that the adjective “wealthy” is the antonym of the term “impoverished”. Yet, for me, it’s an equation of life, which you’re gonna to solve it, to prove it, by thyself. Not others, but just you. The one who succeeds to figure out a perfect answer, finally leads him/herself that actually a poor one can be a rich one. I admire. The one who never ever tries to do this equation, will find that there is no relation between these two terms, without knowing how powerful the peculiar existence of solution it is. I despise.

I have this opinion because some people always give judgment without considering others’ circumstances, just as some of the rich people who think that an upper-class society shouldn’t be a place somewhere the poor is able to attend. The M society has clearly defined my point. So, to the rich, I will tell, “think of poor, you selfish.”

Umm... i can write many while there's nobody around. So wat will you write?

exam eXam

My life is now infused with edginess as the mid-term exam has finally come. First, I didn’t do well in my Japanese exam although the paper was quite a piece of cake; and second, I scored low in yesterday’s listening quiz. Well, Grace asked me not to make a fuss with the score because it’s already a past tense. Maybe taking a stride is better to run an easy life. Nonetheless, I would still keep blaming myself while I ought to get something I’m deserved.

I woke up late this morning and I was an hour late for German class. It is so bad to skip language class while the exam is around the corner because it gives no helps to a candidate as jittery as me. Spending hours to watch “six feet under” in language lab before Michael’s oral class is the only conceivable means to alleviate my being overslept. You’re not gonna to believe what had I said while I met Wendy this morning, that was, I got a class but “sleptover”. Obviously I spoke out a term in reverse order as if I had already taken my class in a sleeping mode—not really waken up yet.

By the way I’m so happy that I almost approach to the last episode of “six feet under” today because of my tardiness. I have a profound understanding about life as if I were one of the characters—Claire. She is an outstanding girl who wants her life to be meaningful, but she then also got in trouble by people’s misunderstanding about herself. Therefore she is required to go for counseling in school by no reason she has to do it in personal. I think it is cruel at first, I mean if you are forced to go through this so-called psychological therapy with no willingness of your own, it is like shitting your whole life and you wish others could just mind their own business. But I see some progress for Claire in understanding her own, and finally she ought to leave school for college to develop her creativity, talent, and potentialities of arts.

They’re a lot to talk about this series. I think I will continue if I find no topic to write my journal next time. NIte~ i wish everybody pass the exam here~

PaMiMio

Yesterday I went to Science Museum in Taichung with Chen & Chris who were my last summer roommates. This trip was actually our first time going out together since our separation last year. After receiving the good news that Chris is posted as the first in the name list of National Cheng Gong University graduate school’s matriculation, we had decided to go out for meals weeks ago. Finally, Chris suggested our going to the museum because it has a free admission by entering before 10a.m. on Wednesdays. Afterwards, we concluded that this science trip is beneficial as we’re not in this academic domain. We took a photo of our body temperature because it is fantastic to be retained in our memory. I mentioned that ALIEN VS PEDATOR in our conversation; however they had never been watching this movie. As I remember, predators can only see human’s body temperature instead of concrete objects, just like this picture had shown us.

We had our lunch at Pamimio Restaurant around 12.30p.m., which Chris had made a reservation for a table in advance. It is an Italian restaurant. I like its exteriority pretty much so I took a photo with the menu board placed at its entrance. However, I looked like a passer-by instead of a guest >< (This is what they said.) I ordered clam spaghetti and both of them got the commercial set lunch. Yummy… After that we stayed at a pavilion in a green meatus and chatted for almost an hour. The last thing we did was to take an autodyne picture of us. It spent a lot of time to catch good angles and expressions. Finally, we gave up because it was exhausting. Yesterday, I felt like our good old days had returned that we were still together like we used to be. It is a bit sad but I really miss them a lot.

a FellOw oF mIne

I’m terribly exhausted now, probably because I didn’t sleep well last night. The mosquitoes had been flying around since I got on bed at 2a.m. In that case, I hid in my bed sheet trying to get rid of them; however I kept hearing their sound which was so annoying and being constantly awaken made me hardly fell into sleep. By the way I slept about 2a.m. as I had my dinner at 11p.m. Recently, some of the extra courses at Language Center have started so I have been working late and became too busy to have dinner time. Furthermore, waking up so early and having no rest at all made me feel a bit dizzy. Sadly, I’m running out of word now. ><

Well, I’m quite worried about my GEPT High Intermediate Level exam which is only two weeks away. Regardless of lacking in vocabularies is my big trouble dealing with this test, I feel not to have memorized the words like any others. It is no way to memorize the words as I know, because you will never gonna use it after that temporary memory. I’m so against it. At least it is not the way to workout, and it is just what I’m thinking. Maybe I shouldn’t be so tough; otherwise I could get failed later. Hence, a new idea has emerged in my mind today. Maybe I could try to keep practice using those vocabs, since it is the only possible way out. So I better hurry up before it’s too late. Wish me good luck. Have you girls ever listen “it is too late to apologize” by Timbaland? No matter from what aspects you wanna think about something, I really see to it. Sometime it might be a sad one--listens its tone can help you figure out how sad it is—but I do really have this kind of strong feeling that sometime it is really too late to apologize before realizing one’s fault.

Actually, I have an uneasy chance to type my journal here, but my colleague is so noisy and he keeps disturbing me. I could barely concentrate now. Somebody help me!!! Just let me go home. I wanna go home sleep. I don’t know why a person like him can be so energetic but stupid… He said that I’m wearing a sock which is really weird and its color is disgusting. What’s for saying those words?= = In return, I wanna tell you girls his name is ALEX. Do remember him who is from our campus “Ji Fu She”. (I was just kidding. In fact, he is a nice one but I have to admit he is sometimes too noisy. >< Anyway, say hello to him whenever you see him in person, in regards of me, cYLdeR. Thanx)

(Revised)Response to article: Is anybody listening?

Diligence

Daniel’s contention in this article is that the inadequacy of lecture system nowadays harms the faculties as well as the students. The poor learning conditions such as extension courses which is too big, the inactive and repetitive way of giving lecture by reading old notes bored bilaterally, and the courses designed hardly benefit the students and overall have shown the shortcomings of lecture system. Also, he expresses his own idea that practice listening attentively is a difficult task for almost every student who basically chooses to avoid it. As a consequence, he strongly suggests that “students should learn to listen before they can listen to learn.” In my opinion, this situation really needs to be improved in order to ensure all students’ a real understanding. To learn actively, to lecture adequately, and to raise a question frequently –these are the responsibilities of the participants involved in a lecture.

First, a student should take the initiative in study. A university is an institution for higher education and it awards an undergraduate a bachelor degree; after all, the students are those who should responsibly pursue further education. Indeed, they should promptly prepare or review before and after a lecture to make a complete absorption for them. Without the improvement of self-learning, a student might encounter a momentary study distraction as he or she fails to focus in lessons. In a growth of time, that student would totally burn out, losing the enthusiasm for study. To illustrate, take the student who has great academic performance to contrast with the student who has poor results as a lively example. Elizabeth who is the top student in the class is conscientious about her own study. She asks some questions during recess time to solve her inquiries. Even after back home, she habitually spends an hour to do revision, trying to recall what she has learnt from the lecture. On the other hand, Anthony who has the worst results in the class abandons schoolwork and chooses to learn passively. He starts reading only a day before the exam; therefore, he could never follow up the schedule of the course.

Second, instructors, lecturers, and professors should try to act according to circumstances while giving a lecture. There is a small amount of faculties from any other universities teach without caring the students’ reaction. They neglect the feeling of the students and virtually there is no one dares to raise a question under their powerful tone. As a consequence, the courses are boring both the lecturers and students which is the most ineffective way to teach and to learn. It has caused not only the students learn nothing from the class, but also some sleep over the span. To lecture picturesquely involves how well a lecturer’s preparation before stepping into the class. A lecturer may ask some questions even though there is no one raising their hand. Furthermore, he or she can dispel the tedious atmosphere by holding a small discussion group or a student presentation weekly.

At last, a student should raise a question whenever he or she is in trouble. The best device to learn adequately is to ask frequently. This helps a student to improve in expressing their ideas after rapidly receiving a satisfying answer. Moreover, it constitutes their critical ideas by the process of questions and answers. Once, I was sitting in the lecture hall among three hundred and fifty students. It was an extension course taken about two hours. Students cannot move freely while the entrance is closed and the lecture starts. I observed that third students had fallen asleep; no matter they were sitting in front or behind in the lecture hall. This circumstance seemed only the lecturer himself interested in the course, but I was wrong which I found later that someone raised his question in the middle of the lesson. After that, the one third of the students who were sleeping woke up as they were aware of someone’s speaking in their dreams. They joined in the questions raised by the boy and started to discuss with the people sitting beside them. Therefore, questioning is a way of learning too.

To sum up, diligence is the gate to success. The present lecture system is lacking in providing a student good lectures; hence, every student should catch up the lectures by doing self-revision studiously. Besides, lecturers should be considerate to their students who are readily understandable by observing their concentration, participation, and performance in a class.

My fIRst SwiMsUit

It's journal time again. Since the second semester has become busier than the last one, i have a prediction that i would feel numb about all this happened. >__ < Well i have a lot of plans for this semester. I am going to make some workout to improve my language, i mean, in a more realistic way. To work the first step, i made some adjustment for my time schedule. For instance, since my tutor job on Tuesday has been changing to Sunday morning by chance, i have a chance to make an little adjustment for my part-time job at language lab sometimes. I work at language lab on Mondays, thursdays, and Fridays, so i decide to make a shift with my two colleagues-- Grace and Alex, if they're flexibly in need to have other datings. For example, Grace would like to go home on Tuesday so that she could make the spring vacation which actually starts from Wednesday a continuous 6 days off from school and work. Therefore, we both exchange our change of her Tuesday and my Monday. I'm very happy too because my wish to attend the English corner's activity on Monday which is led by Joseph the Canadian Instructor in our campus can be fulfilled. I'm so awaiting for this participation because it is my first time; therefore, i must be quick to make a prior appointment on this coming Tuesday. (i've heard that it is always full so they set a limitation for entries. So you could expect how inviting this activity is!! Everybody is so wanted to get in there! But that's just a rumor which haven't yet proven by me.) Alex, who is a service club committee (JI FU society), is quite busy for his association in the opening of the semester. Since there was a orientation party, he asked me to take over his shift last Tuesday night. In this case, i could earn extra money although it is so tiring to have a day class full and then take a night shift for almost five hours. Also, i have discussed with him that if he would like to for sometime, changing the thursday and tuesday shift with me so that i could have a fabulous thursday. Next Tuesday, there is no taking over shift or extra shifts; hence, i've decided to go swimming that night. Unfortunately, i don't have a swimsuit (actually my old one is belonged to my auntie's, and it is too loose to wear now.); therefore, i went to POYA to buy for a new SWEAR brand swimsuit for myself. I like its color and i'm totally fond of it. It is because it is my first swimsuit that i chose for myself. I used to wear the old ones which were from my cousins or aunties before or the one bought by others was not my favor so i considered them not as my own swimsuits. This one will be the first one, and the very very first one. I chose it among 6 others that i have tried. So i think i really like it. After that, i even bought a specs which is suitable to be used in the pool.

Diligence

Daniel’s contention in this article is that the inadequacy of lecture system nowadays harms the faculties as well as the students. The poor learning conditions such as extension courses which is too big to take attendance, the inactive and repetitive way of giving lecture by reading old notes bored bilaterally, and the courses designed hardly benefit the students overall have shown the shortcomings of lecture system. Also, he expresses his own idea that practice listening attentively is a difficult task for almost every student who basically chooses to avoid it. After all, he strongly suggests that “students should learn to listen before they can listen to learn.” In my opinion, this situation really needs to be improved in order to advance the intelligence of all students. To learn actively, to lecture adequately, and to raise a question frequently –these are the responsibilities of the participants involved in a lecture.

First, a student should take the initiative in study. Although a university is an institution for higher learning with teaching and it awards an undergraduate a bachelor degree, a student should promptly prepare or revise before and after a lecture to make a complete absorption for him or herself. Without the advancement of self-learning, a student might encounter a momentary study distraction as he or she fails to focus in lessons. In a growth of time, that student would totally burn out, losing the enthusiasm for study. To illustrate, take the students respectively the first and the first count from the back in the class as a lively example. Elizabeth who is the first in the class is conscientious about her own study. She asks some questions during recess time to solve her doubts. Even after back home, she habitually spends an hour to do revision, trying to recall and rememorize what she has learnt from the day lecture. Relatively, Bobo who is the last in the class abandons schoolwork and chooses to learn passively. She starts reading only a day before the exam; therefore, she could never follow up the schedule of the course.

Second, instructors, lecturers, and professors should try to act according to circumstances while giving a lecture. There is a small amount of faculties from any other universities teach without caring the students’ reaction. i ain't got NO points in my jounal... Juz...nO title...=..

Well, there is nothing to be written for this whole week because I had been sick for two days and after that I need to redeem for the lessons I missed. Actually I haven’t fully recovered yet; I eat less and there is no defecation. ( “Of course! Since you don’t eat much so no poo-poo will be coming out from your body,” said my roommate Tracy.) I wonder whether it is kind of stupid sometime when I spoke out some meaningless things; but I finally understand that it doesn’t really matter because the point is: It was always funny. Haha… > 0< So everybody okay? Has anybody finished poo-poo? = =
Some more, I found that there is no formal verb of poo-poo, and that’s why the red underline in this word document keeps following me. It sucks. ( I learned from one of the episodes in The Six Feet Under I watched last night that a decorous mother would warn her son, “Watch your language!” whenever she heard a disgraceful word such as “sucks” from him.) Guess I’m about to go off topic. >< Well, I’m curious about the formal word of the-everybody-know “make shit”. So if there is anyone who knows what we should call that movement in verb-form, do kindly tell me. Thanks… You might call me “a frog in a well”, but I wouldn’t mind. So just tell me, peers ^^~
(Actually I’m giving you guys a tough work to figure out. So there will be three frogs in a well at the end of the story. Hahaha) Please don’t get mad at me because I’m really flying over this journal.
Finally I wish that you girls to be healthy, happy, and most importantly, pretty ^^
I’ll be here waiting for your comments soon. ~ ~

schizophrenia

I had a terrible experience in our campus library two days ago, and that wasn’t worse than the case my computer being attacked by virus and crackdown. The reasons I went to library to use the computer, not only to give comment to my peers’ journal, but also because my PC was in progress to recover. At first, I was surprised and happy to see my senior--pOk kAi, who was also in the library, sitting on the PC seat. But he left soon to have lunch, and sooner a person who I first believe was a freak had taken pOk kAi’s seat. What convinced me was that he kept on murmuring as he walked toward me and even after he sat down. It sounded like he was memorizing something or running some formulas in his mind. Since his action didn’t really disturb me, I didn’t change seat at that time. By chance, I took a peek at his work on the screen. He was studying on stock market, checking the index and observing the charts very attentively, just that he didn’t shut his mouth up overall. I wondered about maybe he was just as normal as everybody, or maybe he was doing some hard work which couldn’t be distracted, and that’s why he kept murmuring. He walked away suddenly and his action looked just fine. However, when he came back with a mobile phone holding on his hand, it really scared me because it is an action that 100 out of 100 an abnormal people will do. Well, maybe he is another John Nash, who created a powerful theory that we used it in both economy and law today; but I’m sorry that he is another schizophrenic patient in the world. At last, I left him alone after making a judgment on him.

2008*Homecoming story

It has been a long time I stopped writing journal since last winter break, and now I’m back again. There is a little change in my life now compare to previous. After switching myself back from my faraway hometown this time, I can feel that my attitude to life altered subtly and I’m profoundly grateful to its happening.

Frankly no one of us (I mean girls) is willing to come back here. We cried on board, having terrible homesick at the moment we’re going to be apart with our very close friends and family. It turned out that the most agonized things that ever happened in the world is—to be separated with someone you care so much.

My last-time-visit to my grandmom’s house to meet my single aunt and my uncle who is sick with terminal brain cancer was an impressive experience to me. My aunt held me tight in her arms to forbear from crying in front of me while my father’s car (which was not supposed to be there since my parent’s divorce) arrived. I can’t even say goodbye to her. On the other hand, my uncle gave me a red envelope as a sign of lucks in Chinese tradition so that I’d get safety while on flight.

Two of my aunts told me that he never gave anyone a red envelope. “A dying people would change his bad attitude to a good one”, this made me finally believe one of the Chinese proverb I learnt in high school.(人之將死,其言也善。)In my heart, I told myself soundlessly, “May you live a hundred years!”

The most reluctant-to-let-go person in my life is my father. After I confirmed that it was the entrance to get across the custom, I retraced to give my lovely father a deep hug and said no word to him. Then I quickly walked pass the entrance without turning my head. I’m always the one who flaunts the superiority while arguing with my father, so I won’t let him see me cry while leaving him.

So, I think that’s why I had grown up after a month--a short but enough to be a memorable homecoming story.

nEw yEar nEw aIm

Time passed unknowingly; 2007 waved us goodbye. I think most of us left some regrets behind. However, having no intention to make any changes, they always choose to forget the past and welcome the new—this is us--human. An article caught my eye few days ago, right before my unplanned countdown for the new coming year. People make new year’s resolutions and promises to change in some way as the first of January marks not only a new calendar for them, but a new beginning. Back in 4000 B.C., Babylonians resolved to return something they borrowed from a friend. Whereas in about 150 B.C., Roman would choose to ask forgiveness from someone they had wronged. Look at us now, what our new year wishes are: to be healthier, wealthier, happier, and to be “more” than its origin. All those have indicated that we want a better life quality, but we set the target far too high to stay determined. One out of two between us breaks the promise no longer than two months; that is not so good to set a new-year aim which is hard to access. My new year aim is to do recycle whenever I finish my take-out meal. I am going to run an earth protector life as I hope to prevent the enhancement of global warming. As my reflection after Michael’s class is “to deal with global warming is a global start,” I start to think of the things around me which should be in electricity’s saving list. Should I put my fish back in the pond instead of keeping it in my aquarium which waste a certain watts of electricity a day? This is a small question but worth to figure overall. Because I think that if I really do that, the whole aquarium should have collapsed before my action. = =
